Magic By Pete

Treat yourself to a family-friendly evening of magic, with Pete Walterscheid.

“Magic by Pete” takes stage at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, at the William Inge Theater at Independence Community College.  This will be the closing event of the 2018 Astra Arts Festival, in Independence, Kansas. Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for youth and can be reserved by calling (620) 266-1974.

Pete Walterscheid takes great pride in what he presents.  He jokingly refers to himself as “world famous in certain parts of Kansas.” He is a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Society of American Magicians, and the prestigious Academy of Magical Arts.  He has been awarded a magician membership to the Magic Castle in Hollywood and keeps busy performing for banquets, festival, corporate functions, and private shows.

In January 2017 he was voted first runner-up as “Best Magician of the Year” of the Kansas city area by the Heart of America Magician group.  Pete was featured performer in the “Masters of Magic Tour 2014” that performed in the Kansas City area, finishing with a sold-out crowd at Theater Lawrence.

He has recently been awarded the title “close-up Magician of the Year” of the International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring No. 129 for the greater Kansas City area. He was chosen the performer of the closing “Comedy Magic Extravaganza” show for the Kansas City Fringe Festival the last two years. Also, in the summer of 2015, he placed third in the finalists of the Midwest Magic Jubilee Nation competition held in St. Louis.
